Miranda July's "Me and You and Everyone We Know" had its L.A. premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival last night at the DGA Building on Sunset. The large theater was packed to see the film, which has taken awards from Sundance and Cannes earlier this year, and was released by IFC Films in New York over the weekend at their new IFC Center in Greenwich Village. July won praise from the audience in L.A., and she said that she was excited for the film to finally show in her hometown. She also had members of the cast join her onstage for the Q&A after the film lamenting, "I usually have to do these by myself." Pictured from left to right are cast members Hector Elias, July, Brandon Ratcliff (the cute one in front), JoNelle Kennedy, Carlie Westerman, John Hawkes, Natasha Slayton and Najarra Townsend.
For those who've seen the film, apparently some LAFFers decided to take on the "blowjob" challenge, recreating a scene from the movie with "anonymous" titles, Citizen 1 and Citizen 2... The enthusiasts even placed an ad on Craig's List with the title, "2 Cocksuckers Seeking an Authority." Apparently there were four immediate responses, and one "authority" who 'eventually' named a winner...
