Dogme 95 or Mumblecore?

I’ve been passing around this hilarious Dogme 95 certified short this week that my good friend Aisha Butler sent to me. (Thanks to Twitch for turning her on to it.) It got me thinking - was Dogme 95 the predecessor to mumblecore? Anyway, enjoy.

Nice short.

Dogme 95 was definitely the thing that made it cool & acceptable to shoot features on DV; inspiring a lot of filmmakers world wide - including the InDigEnt films in US (Pieces of April, etc.) before the m-core kids started shooting stuff on digital.
