From The Studio...

I remember thinking it was odd that, on the one-sheet poster for baseball flick The Rookie, Walt Disney Pictures chose to tout the film as "From the studio that brought you Remember The Titans." Usually, a studio tries to sell the director, the producer, the writer. Rarely does a studio use a poster to tout, well, the studio and its recent sports movie success.

And then, after The Rookie was a hit, the Walt Disney Pictures poster for hockey tale Miracle (a year or so later), read: "From the studio that brought you Remember The Titans and The Rookie." Hmmm, okay, sure. Looked like Disney was gonna take this tactic as far as they could. Well, now that Miracle was a modest hit, the studio has done it again. I was at a theater tonight and saw the poster for Disney's golfing pic The Greatest Game Ever Played. On the top of it? "From the studio that brought you Remember The Titans, The Rookie, and Miracle."

How far can Disney go? Does this mean we can expect Disney's January basketball release, Glory Road, to have a poster with "From the studio that brought you Remember The Titans, The Rookie, Miracle, and The Greatest Game Ever Played?" How many sports movies can they make? Is there enough space on today's posters?
