Four iPod Monsters

Yesterday, Apple announced the video iPod. And, without missing a beat (gotta love modern technology), a group of indie filmmakers have already decided to maximize the possibilities. Arin and Susan, the team behind SXSW 2005 award-winning feature Four Eyed Monsters, have embraced the new video iTunes format immediately.

Also not missing a beat, Eugene Hernandez at indieWIRE chronicles the launch of their initiative in a feature today, writing:

"'What Apple is doing is changing the media landscape and if there was any doubt about whether they'd become the center of online distribution of video content, today's announcements have pretty much solidified that the answer is yes,' explained [director Arin] Crumley in an email to indieWIRE, putting aside any frustrations he may have felt with Apple in the past. 'So it behooves everyone involved in independent film to get behind and support what Apple is doing.'"

This is just the latest in a full swing of multimedia marketing tools the Four Eyed Monsters duo has utilized. They have a popular Web site, an indieWIRE blog, and a MySpace profile. And, if you're already part of the MySpace army, you can (not-so-shameless plug) check the SXSW MySpace profile, too.
