Oops... Arcade Fire release wrong charity single

Arcade Fire were set to debut, on iTunes today, the first single from their highly-anticipated next album. Proceeds were to benefit the organization, Partners In Health, and fans would get a taste of "Intervention," fresh from the sessions for the album Neon Bible. Instead, through some snafu, a completely different song ("Black Waves/Bad Vibrations") from the album was uploaded, and a few days too early. Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler explains on his journal:

“I guess it is sort of charming that we can send the wrong song to the whole world with the click of a mouse…oh well. The real Intervention will be up soon, and there will be a paypal link up on arcadefire.com for those who have downloaded the songs without paying but still want to give some money to www.PIH.org...

Just to clarify, 100 percent of the profits from the downloads of Intervention (Black Waves/Bad Vibrations) this week on iTunes are going to Partners In Health... our little bump in the road hasn't changed that..."
