Eight Things. Not All Good.

Okay, okay, I've been tagged. Danielle at Indiepix has tagged me on a meme tagging, that is spreading throughout the indie film blogosphere. So, please excuse this if you find it incredibly boring but I can't pass up a chance to play along. And just to make it interesting and balance out the ego, I've chosen to do "Eight Things. Not All Good." So, here it goes:

Rules:
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.

---------------
UNO: When I was 10 years old, my father took me to see Sam Raimi's Darkman for my birthday. I was so freaked out by the titular burn victim that I pretended to be sick so we had to leave the theater... Darkman would later go on to be a personal favorite years later.

DOS: In junior high, I won the "Three Sports Award" two years in a row, for playing football, basketball, and tennis consecutively. This would prove pointless when I attended a math/science magnet high school that did not have sports. I won my high school letter jacket for competing in a statewide exam for something called the Texas Association for Minorities in Engineering, even though I am neither a minority nor an engineer. Oh, and we cheated by saving the answers to our test in a TI-85 calculator.

TRES: When I was 15, I hosted an award-winning (regionally) TV show called The News Alternative with Matthew Dentler. I still have the VHS masters.

CUATRO: One of my ancestors is Davy Crockett. But, I don't think this is too unusual around this part of the country.

CINCO: Tony Garza, the current U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, is a family friend.

SEIS: When I was 14, I auditioned with casting director Mali Finn for the role of Robin in Batman Forever. I actually got a callback. I didn't get the part.

SIETE: I came up with the premise for the film Dave when I was in elementary school, after watching Dana Carvey's George H.W. Bush impersonations. I've never pursued legal action, even though I've since met and worked with the screenwriter Gary Ross. Primarily, because I have no proof.

OCHO: I snore a lot, and haven't done enough to try and fix this, much to the dismay of my fiancee and travel companions.

If you know me and feel I've left something important out, feel free to comment. Okay, now I have to tag 8 other bloggers to keep this going:

Jarren
Kayla
Kent Osborne
Harry Knowles
Bryan Poyser
Mark Rabinowitz
Aldo King
Jason Puckett

Great facts! Sorry you didn't get the role in Batman though. I'm sure you are still stewing about it.

Drifting: A Director's Log > That 8 1/2 Thing - Tom Hall and Dennis Cozzalio both tagged me for that new meme that's going around. I'm always one to cave under pressure; hence, here are eight random facts about myself. I'm supposed to preceed them with the meme rules, but... (07/19/07)
