Got my monthly Criterion Collection email today, and was psyched to see some of the upcoming titles getting ready to roll out soon. In particular, the September releases of Jim Jarmusch's Stranger Than Paradise and Night Train, as well as the October releases of Van Sant's Mala Noche, Godard's Breathless (that's new?), and Malick's Days of Heaven (ditto). It looks like another banner season for the gang at Criterion.
I'm really looking forward to all of these - especially Mala Noche - even though I've never seen it.
I don't think Criterion has ever released editions for Breathless or Days of Heaven and the current versions available on DVD are pretty lame.
Don't forget, Two-Lane Backtop is going to be coming along one of these months!
I'd really like to see Criterion do La Notte. It's probably my favorite Antonioni film.
