AJ Schnack's SXSW 2007 selection, Kurt Cobain About A Son, has recently unveiled its current schedule of theatrical engagements across the country. Click here to get the full list, while it all gets underway in New York on October 3 with an opening in L.A. two days later. Cross your fingers this makes its way to your city, because it's a beautiful film that needs to be witnessed on the big screen. If you just can't wait till early October, then pick up a copy of the film's soundtrack starting September 11. Barsuk is releasing the disc of non-Nirvana songs (see the movie, you'll understand). The album features Steve Fisk and Ben (Death Cab) Gibbard's score, Cobain interview excerpts, and tracks from a diverse group of artists, including: Arlo Guthrie, The Melvins, Bad Brains, Creedence Clearwater Revival. Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, R.E.M., David Bowie, and more. It may be the best mix CD of the year.
