Over on his terrific local blog, "Out & About," Michael Barnes reveals the winners of a readers poll to determine the location of the best margarita in Austin. The winner? Trudy's, which has four locations in Austin, and is renowned for its "Mexican Martini." So renowned, in fact, there's a tradition amongst UT students (at least when I was there) called "The Trudy's Challenge." The establishment will only serve you two "MexMarts" per visit, so the more adventurous (and designated-driver using) consumers will spend an afternoon/evening to see if he/she can stop at each location and drink their limit. Like I said, it was big in college. Nowadays, personally, I'm a fan of the margaritas at Z'Tejas and Iron Cactus.
