For R.E.M. fans out there, Stereogum has got a special surprise for you. They've compiled a track-by-track remake of R.E.M.'s classic 1992 release, Automatic For The People, featuring a bevy of beloved indie-rock acts. You can hear the entire thing by clicking here. In addition to cover tunes such as "The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite" by Rogue Wave and "Everybody Hurts" by Meat Puppets, the site has also contributed notes by R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills, among others. All of this comes to us, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the original album's release.
