Some photogs snapped actor Javier Bardem at LAX today. Big deal, right? Except, the actor arrived at the airport donning a souvenir T-shirt from the wonderful Thunderbird Motel in Marfa, TX. As some have noted, Bardem's new film No Country For Old Men was partially shot in the small West Texas arts town (not-so-coincidentally, almost all of There Will Be Blood shot there around the same time). When I was in Marfa this summer (and stayed at the Thunderbird), I heard countless stories of Bardem hanging out and making the most of his brief stint in the neighborhood.
