'Cloverfield' in Slow Motion

Yes, yes, the JJ Abrams "1-18-08" project (now officially titled Cloverfield), has released an official trailer following months of speculation from online guesses. This blog included. But just when you thought the official trailer would shed light on things like plot, characters, etc... we got a trailer that played more like an extended teaser than anything else. Added to that, there's no clear identification of what the monster in this "monster movie" actually is. So, the folks at I Watch Stuff have taken the one shot from this trailer that actually reveals the monster (for a split second), and slowed it down to a frame-by-frame look. Comments and guesses and theories abound from that point on.

I found this picture recently, but I don't think its terribly new. I'm pretty sure it's a fan piece from someone who believes the theory that the monster has smaller parasite monsters that jump off it and raise hell. Kind of fun just to imagine the 'what if' of this whole project. I'm a geek.

The shot has quite a Godzilla vibe to it. At least it seems to be a nastier version of the all "beloved" Emmerich-Gozilla or something similar in that regard.
