I wanted to offer a big congratulations to a few Austin-based filmmakers (and friends) rounding at this year's Sundance Film Festival lineup. First, there is the super-prolific shorts filmmaking duo of David and Nathan Zellner. The brothers will debut their third feature film, Goliath, in the "Spectrum" section of the festival. It's one of the Sundance films I've already seen, and I can tell you, it's pretty damn good. Not to mention, really funny. And, both David and Nathan deliver top-notch comic performances in the film. As do filmmakers Andrew Bujalski and Bob Sabiston. It's a must-see!

And, I wanna congratulate Austin-based documentary filmmaker Margaret Brown, who has a new doc called The Order of Myths, premiering in the festival's Documentary Competition section. Yay! This is Margaret's second feature, following the acclaimed Toronto premiere, Be Here To Love Me: A Film About Townes Van Zandt.Cannot wait to see the new film, which I've heard tales about, for months now. Also in the Documentary Competition, is the film Trouble the Water, which was shot by Austin-based cinematographer and filmmaker PJ Raval.

While I'm at it, a big shout-out and congrats to former Austinites Jay and Mark Duplass, who will premiere their second feature, Baghead, in the festival's "Spectrum" program. Oh, and what is that I see? Fantastic Fest sensation Timecrimes will be a part of the Sundance "Midnight" section? Awesome, and I cannot wait to see the director Nacho Vigalondo in Park City! They have karaoke bars on Main Street?
