I'm re-watching the Hughes Brothers documentary, American Pimp, on IFC right now. Which got me thinking, "whatever happened to Allen and Albert Hughes?" According to their Wikipedia page, they did some TV after directing From Hell, but nothing else seems to be in motion. Anyone know more? They should be huge right now.
Albert's IMDB page says they're working on a segment of an anthology called New York, I love you, which I guess is being arranged by the same people as Paris, je t'aime. Not a full-fledged return, but could be cool. I dig the Hughes brothers, though I'm not among the From Hell admirers.
Not sure, but can we throw Theodore Witcher on that "What the hell happened?" list?
And Lynne Ramsay is getting close....though I guess Peter Jackson happened there!
Good call on Theodore Witcher... a promising debut that's gone 10 years without a follow-up.
This is a fun topic. I'm gonna throw out Whit Stillman. Is he stranded on an island somewhere?
