The first night of any crazy-busy festival, is usually the best/only time to catch up with old friends and familiar faces. That's why it was great to attend a chilli dinner party hosted by the guys from indieWIRE, at their condo. What started as a small and intimate evening, soon grew and grew. Before we knew it, more and more familiar faces started to make their into the small condo. It was crowded, but a fun time and a good way to begin this onslaught of snow and cinema.
Friday morning has begun with screenings of some exceptional documentaries, including Stephen Walker's wonderfully charming Young@Heart and Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and Elvis Mitchell's touching and insightful portrait, The Black List (which just announced a deal with HBO). On to some more screenings and meetings. A couple pics, from the beginning of Sundance:
