A bigger lovefest MP3 you could not find today. Mark Wynns alerted me to Pitchfork's posting of this terrific and beautiful cover of Joy Division's "Atmosphere" by Ola Podrida. Buddy David Wingo's cover of the song figures prominently in the SXSW 2007 film The Signal, which will hit theaters in February. It's a genius idea for the technological horror flick.
Have you heard Pink Mountaintops version of Atmosphere from their debut CD? It's a very Velvet Underground re-imagining of that track. It kicks my ass every time I hear it.
Fantastic song! Just can't find it anywhere on the internet, the link is 403 Forbidden expected to log into pitchfork - still haven't figured out how to register.
