With 'Adams,' Tom Hanks Does It Again

I've started to catch up on HBO's new miniseries, John Adams, and it's quite an impressive achievement. I'm hooked and I think all parties involved have done a superb job in capturing both the spirit of the book as well as the epic period it details. Plus, it's worth noting that this is Tom Hanks' fourth producing success in a row with the cable network, following From Earth to the Moon (1998), Band of Brothers (2001), and Big Love (2006-?). Not a bad winning streak, which will be tested again next year with a brand-new HBO miniseries, The Pacific. In the meantime, though, he (and all of us) can bask in the gripping and nuanced saga that is John Adams.
