Austin's awesome annual Latin American film event, the Cine Las Americas Film Festival, will happen for the 11th time starting April 16 and wrapping up on April 24. The lineup is a great collection of some of the last year's best Latin American filmmaking. Features in the program include Opening Night Film Septiembres by Carles Bosch (a big hit at IDFA 2007), XXY by Lucía Puenzo, Deficit by Gael García Bernal, and Cochochi by Laura Amelia Guzmán & Israel Cárdenas. Check these, and more, out at the festival. It's a great time.
