New media, movies, music, sports, politics & absurdity... from New York City (and beyond).

I probably can't think of a better week to finally make the permanent move to New York, than one starting with a feature in the Sunday New York Times, about my new job. Click here for Brooks Barnes' article, called "Indie Films, Coming to a Small Screen Near You."
Very nice; a good "welcome to NYC & the new job" piece I think, for you. Will be interesting to see what you &/@ Cinetic come up with re: digital distribution/new revenue streams for indie filmmakers.
Good luck with the new city & the new job. The East Coast, though possibly not as spacious as Texas, rocks in many unique & vibrant ways.

Hey Matt,
Congratulations on the new job and coming east. I just started in a new office (same job, new location) and my daughter made me a sign that said "Be brave! Be exciting." Good advice for anyone undertaking a big change. I'm eager to see what you and Cinetic come up with, and the article in the NYT didn't mention if/how you guys will be working with shorts ... when you can, let us know on the blog (or e-mail.) For that matter, I hope you keep the blog.
Best of luck. NYC rocks.
Marc
Hey, congrat on the job. I read the article and I really think John Sloss is onto something. His company has the leverage and agility to adjust with the paradigm shift of the Motion Picture Industry almost better than anyone else. I see a huge market reversal that will allow new entries into the world of filmmaking and distribution.
