'Mongol' Party in New York
MONGOL.jpg
(Mongol director Sergei Bodrov, right, with Picturehouse publicity powerhouse Liz Brambilla at the premiere party for his film in New York on Monday night. Bodrov's Genghis Khan epic, which was nominated for a Foreign Language Film Oscar, opens in theaters this weekend. It's a great film. Picturehouse hosted the party at the Rubin Museum in Chelsea, which is known for its impressive array of Asian artwork. During the party, Picturehouse president Bob Berney mentioned to me that Bodrov has homes in Kazakhstan, Russia, and... Tucson, Arizona. The logic? He's from Siberia, originally.)
