The 'Spaced' Tour and DVD Release

One of the most exciting entertainment releases of the summer is actually several years old. Spaced, the BBC comedy series by Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, Jessica Stevenson, and Nick Frost, will finally see itself released on DVD in America. Prior to this, Brit comedy fans were forced to seek unofficial copies of the hilarious show, usually by purchasing import DVDs. Despite its title, the show is not a sci-fi adventure but instead a very smart look at a group of slacker friends obsessed with pop culture. It would also be the seed for a collaborative partnership that would yield the films Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

To commemorate the U.S. release on July 22, Wright, Pegg, and Stevenson are going on a four-city tour that will include New York, Los Angeles, San Diego's Comic-Con, and Austin. Coincidentally, and unfortunately, I will be in the U.K. on every stop of this tour. So, I will miss it, but you shouldn't. Click over to AICN for details on the events, and make sure you check out the show for yourself.
