We're in the dog days of summer when it comes to new album releases. Not much great stuff has come to be noticed, so rather than force five new albums I'm gonna recommend three this round:
1. UNKLE, End Titles... Stories for Film
(UK DJ/producer James Lavelle compiles some great tracks that are both poppy and instrumental. A great dose of summer Brit power that recalls the golden age of The Chemical Brothers, including strong guest vocalists like - no joke - filmmaker Abel Ferrara)
2. Shearwater, Rook
(Austin indie-rock outfit delivers their first official new release since signing with Matador. Epic, dark, and gothic chamber rock.)
3. Black Kids, Partie Traumatic
(Florida buzz band of youngsters offer up a sterling homage to The Cure and Gang of Four.)
don't know if Abe Vigoda's Skeleton slipped by you, but it's pretty killer. i think i saw no age on a past list of yours, it's in the same school of LA noise.
