R.I.P. Isaac Hayes. "Walk On By."

Geez. What is the deal this weekend? First, Bernie Brillstein dies. Then, Bernie Mac. After that, the Chinese Olympic basketball team is murdered by the USA (sorry, couldn't resist). Now, Isaac Hayes has become that "bad mutha... shut your mouth!" in the sky at the age of 65. He was an incredible talent who may have lost a little luster in recent years with his controversial (and reportedly, Scientology-based) exit from South Park. No matter, because this Grammy and Oscar-winning musician and actor left a footprint of entertainment that will never be forgotten. To pay tribute, here's his rendition of "Walk On By." He wasn't the only artist to tackle this song, but I still feel his version is one of the best pop arrangements/performances ever produced:

Well put, sir. And an amazing piece of video there. A hell of an artist, Sir Isaac.
