Wayne Wang's 'A Thousand Years of Good Prayers' Trailer Now Online

Wayne Wang is one of most accomplished and inspiring filmmakers working today. His body of work spans many years, many styles, and many stories. He's made great crime films (Chan Is Missing), great family stories (The Joy Luck Club), great romantic dramas (Eat a Bowl of Tea), great comedies (Smoke), great erotica (The Center of the World), and even a few family-friendly studio pictures (Because of Winn-Dixie).

At last year's Toronto Film Festival, Wang had two new features that were acquired by Magnolia Pictures: A Thousand Years of Good Prayers and The Princess of Nebraska. Both films are character pieces that explore the relationship between family, friends, and a cultural gap between China and the United States. In the midst of the Beijing Olympics, these films are even more relevant. The trailer for A Thousand Years of Good Prayers recently debuted exclusively on the Apple Trailers page. It opens September 19 in select cities, before rolling out. Be sure to catch it in theaters.
