Republican Vice Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, was runner-up in the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant. Coincidentally, that was the same year Geraldine Ferraro became the first female Vice Presidential nominee from a major party. In her case, she lost with hopeful Walter Mondale. Reagan/Bush beat them. Who defeated Palin that same year at the Miss Alaska pageant? A woman by the name of Maryline Blackburn. Believe it or not, Blackburn continued to ride the wave of fame that came with her win. She's still a performing musician and singer, who toured the U.S. this summer. Click here for her official Web site. According to her bio, when she advanced to the Miss America pageant, she walked away winning the Talent competition. Wanna hear some of her music? I know you do, so check out her MySpace page. This is the person who has a history of defeating Sarah Palin. Twenty-five years later, some other people might learn what that's like.
Nice detective work. That's really funny!
I can't believe how this completely sucked the life out of Obama's speech! This is the only thing being remotely mentioned on the news right now (...with a little Gustav on the side.)
