David Byrne and Brian Eno have each worked on terrific and legendary albums, both separately and together. Eno produced the early Talking Heads classics Fear of Music and Remain in Light, for Byrne's old band. They also collaborated as solo artists for the influential 1981 record, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. Since that time, their careers have diverged slightly. Byrne soon broke up Talking Heads and then launched an acclaimed solo career as well as a world music label. Eno went to produce for U2, David Bowie, James, and Coldplay.

Now, the two have reunited for an album called Evrything That Happens Will Happen Today. Rather than sound like 1981, it sounds like Eno/Byrne after the last 27 years of musical experience. Byrne's organic and rich sound marries well with Eno's musical landscapes. It's essentially a straightforward pop/rock album, but with enough bells and whistles to keep it interesting. In an age when few "reunion" albums ever yield good results, this is one exception. A totally enjoyable collection of songs that, if there was one regret, may have been better released at the beginning of the summer season. It's just so full of life.
