I'm scheduled to board six planes throughout 10 days. I've been on three so far, in five days. One thing I've noticed already: the cost of flying is changing. Just when we began to get familiar with paying something like $25 for that second piece of checked luggage... well, now it's $15 for that first piece. So, if you're bringing two suitcases, get ready for another $40 on some airlines. Remember that pillow and blanket? It will now cost you $8, but don't worry, they're hypoallergenic. Nevermind the fact that now you've acquired a pillow and blanket, which means you'll surely have to pack them in your luggage on the way back, for a price.
Headphones? If you wanna watch that free movie, or maybe that free selection of cable channels, those cheap headsets will run you around $3 each. Meanwhile, just when you got comfortable with forgetting that bottle of water on the other end of security, now if you'd like water or a soda or any kind of refreshment on the plane, it will cost you at least $2 in some cases. You may as well spend the five extra bucks for the mini bottle of liquor. With the way costs are changing on domestic flights, you're gonna need it.
