Charlize Theron doesn't blame me, does she?

So, a couple years ago, there was this lawsuit filed against Charlize Theron by watchmaker Raymond Weil. A judge ruled this week that the case will proceed to trial. The $20 million lawsuit was filed because Theron was photographed in 2006 at an event wearing a Dior wristwatch, even though she had an exclusive promotional contract with Weil. The public appearance in question, while called "a press event," was actually a panel I asked her to be a part of at SXSW 2006. Now, I did distinctly tell Theron's reps beforehand that there would be still photographers in attendance... but even so, it's hard for me to not feel lousy about it.

That's a crazy amount of money, and I understand she had an agreement, but hopefully this thing gets settled quickly and cheaply. Especially because, well, I feel bad.
