For years, working at SXSW, we'd sit in our film office while the music festival staff had the chance to attend the annual CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival in Manhattan. I always wanted to go, and now I can! The music and movies happen October 21-25, and a schedule/lineup for both has been announced. On the film side, programmers have lined up a slew of fest favorites having their New York premieres, including: Kevin Smith's Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Rian Johnson's The Brothers Bloom, Olly Blackburn's Donkey Punch, Christine Jeffs' Sunshine Cleaning, Tricia Todd & Eric Matthies' SXSW premiere Agile, Mobile, Hostile: A Year With Andre Williams, and more.

Some of the acts performing at the Music Marathon include: A Place To Bury Strangers, Beach House, Broken Social Scene, Cool Kids, Crystal Castles, Del McCoury Band, Deerhoof, Donavon Frankenreiter, Gang Gang Dance, Jay Reatard, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Lykke Li, Minus The Bear, Roisin Murphy, The Dears and Yo Majesty.
