David Hudson, who gained noteriety over the years when he took masterful control of the GreenCine Daily blog, launched his IFC blog "The Daily," at the beginning of this year. In only six shorts month, though, Hudson is forced to cease operations on "The Daily." It's very sad, and now the indie film community will have days go by without Hudson's reliable and tireless assortment of links and tips on topics of the moment. Apparently not enough of us made the site's traffic worth the while. And, while everyone in indie film circles was devoted to Hudson's site, perhaps this is an indicator of how small that circle truly can be.

It sucks, but Hudson does promise that he's "been dreaming up a new format and, if all goes according to plan, it'll be rolling out slowly in two phases at an entity that'll be named when that entity's good and ready." It can't come soon enough.

An indicator of how small the circle is? Try small AND incestuous. I hope Hudson and his 2 faces were also "forced" into a used toilet bowl on his way out the door.

I think not enough people changed their bookmarks. I've talked to people who say, "what's up with GreenCine lately? the writing is all cutesy and editorializing now. It used to be better".
