Scott Macaulay takes a cue from a recent Nikke Finke post, and runs with it. The hypothesis: that the early torrent availability of Liam Neeson thriller, Taken, may have actually helped (?) the film become the Number One box office champion this weekend. It all ties back to the "free vs. paid" debate I've written on before, and it's nothing new in the world of television shows: networks often leak episodes to illegal torrent sites in order to build momentum for a series. So, as Macaulay contemplates, "was Taken a hit despite bootlegging... or because of it?"
