Michael Jackson's 1995 album, HIStory, was the beginning of the end of his relevance in modern pop music. It sold much less, it was unwisely package as a double-album of old hits with new songs, and it was released in the middle of a controversy storm (molestation charges, his curious marriage to Lisa Marie Presley). However, I submit to you three singles from that album which I believe will always be severely underrated. They may pale in comparison to other Michael Jackson songs, but I'd argue that these were three terrific and epic pop tunes. By any other artist at the time, and I think they would have been considered brilliant. Their videos are pretty great, too. Ah, the age of expensive music videos. Here they are: "Stranger In Moscow," "Earth Song," and "Scream."
