As of this weekend, I will have officially resided in New York City for two years. It's worth noting because I'm taking this opportunity (the end of my apartment lease) to move out and over to Brooklyn. No more Manhattan, at least for now, as Devon and I move into an apartment in the Williamsburg neighborhood. Funny side note: when I tell people I'm moving to Brooklyn, they seem delighted to hear another person is joining them across the river. When I tell them I'm moving to Williamsburg, these Brooklynites invariably respond with, "That's not really Brooklyn." Sure, maybe it's the first stop on the L train once you leave Manhattan, and sure, maybe it's a neighborhood that feels more like a college town than a quiet break from the city. Regardless, it feels like a big step, a big move, and a big treat.
