If you're attending SXSW this year (and why wouldn't you?), stop by the panels and especially stop by the panel I'm on with Ryan Werner from IFC, David Hudson from The Auteurs, Tim League from the Alamo Drafthouse, and Eugene Hernandez from indieWIRE. It's called "Saving Cinema in a Digital Era" and it is described by the festival as:

Amidst the rush to find new digital models and preserve a business for indies, how do we save film as an art form? Can we monetize movies and also save cinema? Do we risk films being judged differently as the vast majority of movies are seen on smaller screens?

The panel occurs on Sunday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Austin Convention Center room 16AB. This will be my second year on the panelist side of things for SXSW, and all I have to say is: I'm going to eat my weight in cookies, in the panelist green room.

Thanks for the tip Matt. I'm here with my colleague Greg and it's amazingly enriching but tough to get to everything we want to see - almost *too* much going on. (I'm having Sundance flashbacks!) But with you, Eugene and Ryan in the same debate, this should be a great one. Hope to get to see you tomorrow-

Well it's good that you have goals.

Not sure if I'm going to be heading to SXSW (which probably means that I'm not considering it's awfully late in the game) but hope that you'll post video and/or audio of the session here for the rest of us to enjoy virtually.
