Our First Blog - NewFest 2007 Website Launches

NewFest: The NY LGBT Film Festival begins this month, and as part of the general festivities we're starting a blog. Yay, a new blog! Since we're revealing our 2007 Online Film Guide today, it makes sense that our first post coincides with that. Take a look!

NewFest 2007 opens Thursday, May 31 with Duncan Roy's The Picture of Dorian Gray, and closes on Sunday, June 10 with Robert Cary's Sundance entry, Save Me. These films bookend nearly 250 features and shorts in over 100 programs from over 30 countries.

In the coming weeks, and through the festival (May 31-June 10), NewFest's Administrative Director, Kerry Weldon, and I will be posting info on films and events. We're also planning on featuring mini-interviews with a number of our filmmakers - borrowing a format from our generous blog hosts, indieWIRE. So I hope you'll keep checking us out. But keep in mind, we're new to blogs, so hopefully you'll be easy on us. (How many ways can we work in non-subtle references to the name "NewBlog" in one post?)
