Words matter, if your listening

If you haven't heard about this, you've been under a rock. This, along with other hate speech we've been hearing lately, has just about sent me over the edge.

I'm not one to push my political agenda, nor do I like telling people what to think or how to vote. And, I certainly don't like to be told how to think or vote by anyone either. But, and we've been hearing this a LOT lately, words do matter. So do images. As a filmmaker I know what I choose to say or not say, show or not show matters. People are affected by those choices. And, I believe, as a gay filmmaker, it's even more important.

I guess I naively though we were past - or getting past - this sort of open hatred and bigotry in America.
I guess I was very wrong.

Whether it's from the podium or the pulpit, this sort of BS is inexcusable.

Kudos to whoever made this clip. I hope it gets billions of viewers around the world.
