The trailer for Lars Von Trier's latest, "Melancholia," widely believed to be in Cannes this year, launched today. It has been described as a "beautiful movie about the end of the world," starring Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland as well as Alexander Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt, Stellan Skarsgård, Udo Kier and Jesper Christensen.
Zentropa's description: Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and brother-in-law (Kiefer Sutherland). Meanwhile, the planet, Melancholia, is heading towards Earth... "Melancholia" is a psychological disaster movie from director Lars von Trier.
will be released in Scandinavia in May. Magnolia Pictures will distribute the film in the USA and Canada.
