Call it the “Dad/Uncle” split. Men onscreen may be pseudo-patriarchs, emblematic of some sort of “traditional” order. Conversely, they may be lively, with a possibility of being affable and amusing, like everyone’s favorite uncle.

MAD MEN RECAP 9: CHRISTMAS WALTZ

In watching "Mad Men" episode 5.10, "Christmas Waltz," my first thought was not about the episode's theme. In fact, at first, a theme didn't emerge. Instead, my first thought was how much fun this episode is.
