New York Film Festival- Game over
French director Arnaud Desplechin discussed his work for the final NYFF Dialogue this past weekend….

As a translator whispers to Desplechin, our recorders capture the conversation from below
French director Arnaud Desplechin discussed his work for the final NYFF Dialogue this past weekend, but hardly needed the translator. What he did need was a more powerful mic, so a few of us put our recorders up on the stage. (Thanks, Elena!) Haven’t had a chance to listen to the recording yet.
What I would say about the director is the what I would say about his films. These words come to mind: witty intelligent random cultured open playful inquisitive easy exploratory and… concerned with identity. I highly recommend his new film, “A Christmas Tale,” to be released theatrically in a few weeks.

Yes, I had the same experience. :(
Thanks for the thanks! I’m just transcribing now. Unfortunately, AD is so soft spoken (as is KJ), that I was able to scavenge very little from my recorder!
