Inert and Inerter
Please don't make me watch another film about a grown man who abandons his wife and child for no apparent reason to regress in his childhood home and play with his toys and his buddy, because I've seen 2 in the past 3 months and that's more than enough. "...I suspect I’m not alone in growing weary... of the endless celebration of arrested development as a social entitlement," wrote Tony Scott in the Summer Movies section of the Times. I am nodding in agreement. The stunted adult in "Full Grown Men" (2006), opening Wednesday, is emotionally inert. The one in "Momma's Man" (2007) opening August, is even more inert. |
