I had never been to New Mexico, but I recognized it from the tv series, BREAKING BAD. The landscape is positively lunar in some spots and there's an outlaw vibe to the place. I felt enveloped by the sky and so close to the elements. Howling coyotes, wild mustangs, and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep were new to me.
Todd VanDerWerff's analyses of the tv episodes (about a cancer afflicted science teacher who decides to cook crystal meth for money) are so detailed and loving, AMC should pay him to continue, when the series returns from hiatus.
I thought I might just see a severed Indian's head riding on the back of a slow moving tortoise.
