We’re So There

Just caught the trailer for Todd Haynes’s I’m Not There over at the Enzian Theatre blog.  Can’t say I’m all that knowledgeable on the Dylan front, but I can say I’m a huge Todd Haynes fan (RS #1 had some nice things to say about Far From Heaven all those years ago), and this trailer has my interest stoked for the announced NYFF screenings.  Looks very, very strange—did I see a giraffe in there?  An homage to 8 ½?  The oddness might do a little bit to explain that “No, really, I’m in it for the art” story on its distributor, Harvey Weinstein, in the NY Times today.  Even so, I gotta give the gang some credit—this is a nice take, and might help get the film out to a wider audience.

I’m not a Dylan fan specifically, but I do love the actors and actresses that are playing him. It’s a great trailer that made me interested before it even mentioned who was playing him.
