She plays a weapons specialist in the movie, although, as already noted in past posts, she's also barely visible in all the trailers we've seen thus far, even though director Peter Berg has said that she has a very strong part in it.

Not that I really give a hoot anyway, because this isn't a flick I'm at all interested in seeing; certainly not if I have to spend money on it.

But here's  a character poster for Ms Rihanna's character. You can see the rest HERE.

Universal Studios' big-budgeted, live action adaptation of Hasbro's naval combat board game, Battleship, which marks Rihanna's big screen acting debut, opens May 18th.

She looks good but she's "almost smiling" which equates to "not tough enough". I hope she proves me wrong.

This movie seems a lot like Battle Los Angeles.

My thing is, who cares if this movie is a joke... I'd rather see Rihanna holding that gun then say... Taylor Swift.

If this movie follows the typical action movie tropes, tough-girl Rihanna is going to die. So, there's that.

That's true, this does seem like the type of movie where her character dies, huh?

This is a Joke, Right ?....if not it should be.

I don't recall the Battleship game being this advanced.

I don't know... I'm not a fan, but I just feel like she can do it. The first thing I thought upon seeing this poster was Vasquez from ALIENS (who was d-iz-ope), ahh, the memories... The poster is in Italian, maybe they'll market her more overseas, but keeping her under wraps, I think, is a good move.
