Some quickie film casting news...

First, Isaiah Washington will co-star in the drama, The Trials of Cate McCall, which stars Kate Beckinsale as "a former hotshot prosecutor who threw her career away when she became an addict. Hoping to regain credibility and win custody of her estranged daughter, the lawyer takes on the appeal of a wrongly convicted murderess. She battles crooked cops, a broken system, and her own demons."

Nick Nolte and James Cromwell also star. Production has started in Los Angeles.

Not sure what role Washington plays in this.

Second, Nikki M. James (Third Watch, Law & Order - photo above) will co-star alongside Jason Alexander, and Dominic Marsh in a feature version of the play Lucky Stiff, with production set for mid-June in Southern California.

The play, based on Michael Butterworth's 1965 novel The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo, is described as a "musical farce" that centers on "a lonely English bachelor who stands to inherit a fortune from his recently deceased uncle. Unfortunately, this involves squiring his uncle's corpse on a whirlwind vacation to Monte Carlo, where several other parties have their eyes on the same inheritance."

No word on what role Nikkie James - a Tony-Award winner for her performance in Book Of Mormon last year - will play.

And lastly, Evan Ross joins Richard Dreyfuss, Lolita Davidovich, Nancy Travis, Luke Grimes and Andrew Howard to star in the independent film Squatters, which tells the story of "a young homeless couple in Venice Beach who move into a mansion in Pacific Palisades. When the owners come home early from vacation, things get complicated."

And, like the others, character breakdowns aren't yet available, so Evan's role description is not available.

She's so beautiful! (No you don't have to have what you call European features to be beautiful).

Thank you Tambay. I liked Nikki M James in The Book of Mormon, for which she won that Tony she's holding.
