The Game Season

Well, the press release says "nearly 4 million" people, although it doesn't give the exact figure.

Also worth mentioning from the release is that "nearly 3 million" viewers watched the premiere of Let's Stay Together, which aired after the premiere of The Game.

Those figures include audiences who tuned in during the actual premiere hours, as well as those who watched during the encore broadcasts.

They are inline with BET's other current hit shows in Real Husbands Of Hollywood and Second Generation Wayans.

Although the "nearly 4 million" viewership for The Game is less than it was for season premiere episodes during the previous 2 seasons: 7.7 million viewers in 2011, which is still a record, and 5.3 million viewers for 2012. So a steady decline overall, over the course of the 3 seasons since the series debuted on BET in 2011.

Should the network be worried about the future of The Game?

Details via press release from BET below:

This show is TERRIBLE now. BET made a gigantic mistake writing off Melanie and Derwin. If anything, they should have done a spin off and changed the name. At least keep the original integrity of "The Game" intact.

If they were smart, they'd have them back on as a guest as a way of keeping them involved in the show. I find it ridiculous that these people were all like "family" and now nobody keeps in touch with them. What, the Davis' never come back to visit? Tasha was about to carry Melanie's baby and now they don't speak? This sh*t is awful! BET needs to fire their writer ASAP because this story is so unrelistic.

I have watched the game from season 1 until now I must say that the show started to suck after season 3. And now that Melanie and Derwin are gone it's really gone to crap. The premiere was horrible, horrible acting. Good story line, but horribe acting by the new guy, Lauren London, and Ciara. They are gonna have to do better if they wanna keep the fans who only watched the 4th and 5th season because of Melanie and Derwin and now that they are gone they really have nothing holding them there except for maybe Wendy Raquel Robinson.

I watched it from season 1 and have over and over again, I agree the first 3 seasons were the best. I teared up watching Derwin cry I wish Derwin and Melanie guest starred sometimes that would make it better and if Kelly comes back to claim her man! and where is Brittney? Wasn't Jason taking care of her? Tasha Mack is great but I feel she might have to try harder to be funny and it might get annoying we'll see.

I watched. It was better than the previous two seasons, but Mel's presence was missed.

I havent watched in seasons and I watched the premiere bcause i'm a fan of Brandy...horrible..sorry the writing and some of the acting(Ciara) was cringe worthy wont be back

I used to watch and like it, but now that Mel and Derwin are no longer on, I'm not interested. They were the core of the show and the reason for watching in the first place. The other characters and storylines aren't very interesting or realistic. I'm out. ... This show might have two more seasons and then it'll be canceled.

Who watched "The Game"? Did it meet the expectations? Did it fall below?
    (I didn't watch)

I love the new season. I didn't think I would enjoy it as much without Mel and Derwin but I have been pleasantly surprised. Mel and Derwin had history but I really enjoy watching Nlie and Keira's budding relationship. They have great on screen chemistry. Tasha's love triangle is icing on the cake.

I am enjoying this season. I love the new additions and the developing relationship with the new football player and his potential girlfriend
