I don't live in New York and never have, but even I've always known about Sue Simmons. When is comes to local new anchors, she's a genuine legend and a real survivor in the cutthorat, take-no-prisoners world of television. Simmons is the nighttime news anchor for NBC's flagship O & O station WNBC and has been for that last 32 years and is the highest paid local news anchor in the country making $5 million a year.

Directed by L.A. performer and filmmaker Wu Tsang, the documentary Wildness will premiere this weekend at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin. Wildness revolves around the nightly performers and entertainment of Silver Bar in L.A., patronized by the Latin/LGBT communities since 1963. The 75-min doc screened at MOMA in NYC last month.

It's been about 2 years since I first learned of an NWA biopic being in development; it is happening, if you weren't already aware. And based on Sway's interview with Ice Cube (who's apparently spearheading the project) below, it's just a matter of when; or as he states, it's one of his pet projects that he'd like to see realized in the next year or two.
