Last night, Dee Rees' Pariah was the winner of the prestigious John Cassavetes award for Best Film! The documentary The Interrupters won the award for Best Documentary.

Well another Tyler Perry movie is out and and there will be, of course,  his usual supporters and naysayers arguing over the merits or lack thereof of his movies (And for the record let me say that I think he's a bad filmmaker. But I think Michael Bay is too, but no one will jump on me for saying that.) Yet I can't think of another filmmaker who creates more talk or controversy than TP.

Edi Gathegi has signed up to co-star opposite Kyle Bornheimer in ABC’s comedy pilot called WHITE MAN VAN, which centers on Jack (Bornheimer) "who is forced to put his dreams on hold in order to take over the family handyman business from his father Tony" (played by J.K. Simmons).

As Tambay posted last night, after winning the Lumière award (French equivalent of the Golden Globes) for Best Actor, Omar Sy picked up France's highest acting honor in that same category, the César Award for Best Actor (the French equivalent of the Academy Award).
