I'd actually forgotten all about this, which was announced last October - Will Smith, his Overbrook Entertainment cohorts, and Queen Latifah are teaming up with Sony Pictures TV to produce a syndicated daytime talk show for the Queen to host.

I just learned that a 7-minute preview of Quentin Tarantino's highly-anticipated fantasy revenge thriller Django Unchained, which stars Jamie Foxx as the titular character, and Christoph Waltz as his mentor, was shown just to press moments ago at the Cannes Film Festival by TWC (The Weinstein Company).

Easily one of my fave shows on TV right now, AMC's The Walking Dead, ended season 2 last month with a bang - in an episode that was directed by Ernest Dickerson, that introduced a character many have been anxiously anticipating, Michonne, to be played by Danai Gurira when season 3 rolls around.

I recently read a lengthy interview with acclaimed Chadian filmmaker Mahamat Saleh-Haroun with Black Camera film journal, in which he vowed never to return to FESPACO, continental Africa's largest and most prominent film festival, given the festival's "organizational problems" (a much longer explanation is due, but I'm saving that for a later post).
