With shooting on Tyler Perry's The Marriage Counselor likely complete by now, actress Jurnee Smollett has signed on to play the lead in a new NBC women's prison drama pilot titled Bad Girls - an adaptation of a UK series I first told you about last September when it was reported then that NBC had picked up rights to the program.

British actor Nonso Anozie, who can currently be seen trying to keep from being eaten by rabid wolves in The Grey, and will soon appear in HBO's second season of Game of Thrones, will join the previously-announced Viola Davis in the sci-fi film Ender's Game, based on the popular book by Olson Scott Card.

We haven't mentioned this project in a while since we posted the trailer and first synopsis, besides the fact that it's screening at the Pan African Film Festival this weekend. Well now, Mario Van Peebles' We The Party will also screen simultaneously on the east coast in Boston at the Roxbury International film festival. Although different time zones, both will screen tomorrow 2/19 at 7pm.

Back in November of last year, Tambay posted THIS story on upcoming British rising star David Gyasi, who is starring in the upcoming BBC 2 ensemble TV Drama series White Heat. The new series, which is due out sometime soon this year, is said to be an updated version of an older BBC drama serial, Our Friends In The North.
