Certainly no stranger to filmmaking, Dr. Dre, via his relatively young Crucial Films production company (launched in 2007), has stepped in to produce a horror/thriller titled Thaw, from a script penned by Vik Weet, based on an original idea by Dre's production company partner Daniel Schnider.

Gearing to finish the project by fall, Whoopi Goldberg is set to direct the approximately 90-minute documentary titled I Got Somethin' To Tell You. The doc will be on the life of Jackie "Moms" Mabley, the African American stand up comedy pioneer, who died in 1975.

Now on DVD (but only for UK audiences - at least at this moment) - Carol Morley's critically-acclaimed docu-drama Dreams of a Life, which stars Zawe Ashton - a British film that we've talked about ad naseam here on S&A, which I reviewed; Emmanuel interviewed its star a little bit ago; so most of you should be familiar with the film at this point.
